Since 1931, the Vancouver Art Gallery has collected over 8000 pieces of contemporary and historical art. The Gallery depicts the cultural progressions of British Columbia, while international artists are featured as well. Perhaps the most prominent ongoing collection is that of Emily Carr. This exhibit details an extensive look at one of British Columbia's most famous artists, well-known as a landscape painter.

Current exhibits include: Some Assembly Required: Contemporary Prefabricated Houses, featuring innovative designs and designers of the "prefab" era; and First Nations Myths and Realities, emphasizing the importance of maintaining societal cultures through the expression of art.
